<p>A clamp for a slider movable along a guide rail has a rotatable cam device arranged between slider and rail. The slider can be repositioned linearly. The cam (24) consists of a rod (23) in a slot between opposing parallel flat surfaces (11,15) on the guide (10) and slider (14). The guide restrains the slider (17,18) on both sides of the cam (24). The cam has transverse parallel peripheral cutting edges in its surface regions of largest dia. It is operated by an inclined lever (25) which lies just after the cam movement dead centre point in the clamped position. A machine tool may be fitted into the head of the cam, which has rounded gripping surfaces and flat sides (23).</p> |
