The plug and socket housing have each a peripheral sleeve, which can be releasably latched together in a liquid-tight manner, with their end faces aligned. In other ends of the housing parts are arranged on the inner walls and round the connecting conductors of the plug pin and the socket firmly abutting seals of flexible material. The socket housing has a central protrusion, retaining the socket contact. The protrusion serves for axial alignment of the plug housing by engaging apertures of the housing. It has also an outer sealing ring, forming a counter bearing for the plug housing. An edge strip on the socket housing may surround this sealing ring. This edge strip may carry two holding straps, diametrically arranged to the protrusion and of resiliently ductibility design, for retention in holes (15) on the plug housing external latching cams (16).
