Four wheel drive for tractor - has gearbox connected directly to front differential with shafts passing to rear differential

The attachment comprises a casing (1) which is fixed onto the gearbox housing (8). The gearbox output shaft (3) is connected directly to a shaft (2) in the casing, this driving a pinion gear (9) meshing with another (10) on a stub shaft below. This stub shaft drives a bevel gear (4) meshing with a differential (5,6) for the front wheels. The main shaft (2) continues rearwards, through universal joints (13,30) inclined downwards, to connect (14) with the differential driving the rear wheels. The drive shaft (12) for the power take- off passes directly under the rear differential to its connection point.
