Needling machine for fibrous fleeces - seal prevents air currents created by reciprocating needle beam from disturbing the fleece

In a machine for needling fibrous fleeces a number of needles fixed to a needle beam reciprocates through a stripping plate and a needle board to penetrate a fleece passing through the space between them. Thus space is sealed from the space between the beam and the plate by a seal. Pref. the seal comprises a matting of fabric layers. The provision of a seal prevents disturbance of the fleece by air turrents produced by the reciprocating needle beam. Particularly suitable for needling spun-bond fleece.
