The heat recuperator for an open fireplace burning wood or coal enables heat to be gained from the flue gases and burning fuel to give a hot water supply. Heat is not gained from the ashes, and the hot water obtained can be circulated through existing radiators. The heat exchanger is formed by sets of parallel tubes (1) through which the water is circulated. It has a horizontal section at the bottom on which the fuel burns, a vertical section at the back of the fireplace, and a sloping section at the top which allows the gases to pass through to the flue pipe (4) above.
|
