PURPOSE:To correct the variation in the valve driving system of the internal combution engine, by providing a spring for urging a hollow cylindrical plunger resiliently by compressing air in a compression chamber in response to the change of hydraulic pressure in a cylindrical oil reserving chamber, and thereby holding a push rod and a damper in tight contact with each other. CONSTITUTION:In case that the push rod 5 is expanded during operation of the internal combustion engine, variation of pressure acted to the damper 4 is transmitted to hydraulic pressure in a pressure accumulating chamber 17, which is in turn transmitted to hydraulic pressure in an oil reserving cylindrical chamber 9 via an oil passing groove 29 in a shut-off valve 27. This variation of hydraulic pressure urges a cylindrical diaphragm plunger 10 and causes compression of air in a compression chamber 12, so that the damper 4 and the push rod 5 are brought into tight contact with each other. On the other hand, in case that wear is caused with push rod 5, plunger 10 is urged by a spring 18 and the damper 4 is pushed upward into close contact with the push rod 5. Thus, variation caused in the valve driving system can be corrected automatically. |
