<p>A web splicing apparatus has a pair of identical splicing members (2, 3) mounted pivotally on shafts (4, 5) which also support guide roller (6, 7) for the expiring and replacement webs (18, 20). The replacement web (20) has its leading cut, provided with a double adhesive tape and held by, e.g. suction against an elastic support (17). When splicing operation is released by a signal, the members (2, 3) are pivoted towards each other and supports (16, 17) clamp the webs between them. Expiring web is cut by a blade (14) at a location which coincides with the edge of adhesive tape to provide a tail-free splice. <IMAGE></p> |
