<p>NEW MATERIAL:The titled compound expressed by formula I (R<1> is H, lower alkyl, lower aminoalkyl, etc.; R<2> is H, acetoxy or S-Het group; R<3> is H or carboxyl- protecting group). EXAMPLE:Sodium 7-[ (2-acetoamidinomethylphenyl)acetamido ]-3-acetoxymethyl- 3-cephem-4-carboxylate. USE:A medicine having an antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive and Gram- negative bacteria, particularly improved activity against Gram-negative bacteria. PROCESS:A compound of formula II is reacted with an iminoether hydrochloride of formula III (R<4> is lower alkyl) in a solvent, e.g. water or a lower alcohol, at -10- 10 deg.C, preferably in the presence of a buffer agent, e.g. sodium phosphate, at pH7- 11 to give the compound of formula I.</p> |
