<p>The hose coupling assembly is particularly intended for connecting e.g. a washing machine to a water tap. The supply hose is contained in a flexible outer tube and the annular space between them communicates with a valve whose closure is normally held in the open position by a latch which can be released via a projection of a piston. The piston is movable in a cylinder chamber and its projection extends into a recess in the latch. This projection normally holds the closure member and/or the latch such that the valve is open. Should the hose leak, the piston moves to release the spring loaded member.</p> |
