A lens mounting system for enabling rapid changes of lenses in a microform viewer and/or recorder. A storage wheel (20) is arranged to carry a plurality of lens assemblies (40) and is rotatable relative to an apertured support plate (10) in such a manner as to bring a selected one of the lens assemblies (40) into alignment with the aperture (12) by rotation of the wheel (20). The selected lens assembly (40) is then engaged with the support plate (10) so as to bring the lens thereof into a focused position. The wheel (20) may carry optical sensing indicia (81, 83) on the periphery thereof, and sensing means (70, 72) may be positioned adjacent the wheel (20) for sensing said indicia (81, 83) and identifying the selected lens assembly (40). |
