The seats are for theatres or other meeting places and can be folded into a storage box (2) behind the seats. The seats (1a,1b) have backs (3a,3b) and arm rests (11) between the seats. These can pivot from their position of use towards the back and then turn on their side to fit into the box. Each arm rest is fixed to a bent arm (12) which articulates round an axle (13) on an arm (14) which can pivot round another axle (5), at right angles. When in use, the arm rests are held in place by feet.
