<p>The appts. is used for registering electrocardiograms, and is useful as an aid for diagnosis of heart diseases. It has a number of control knobs enabling it to be programmed into a variety of differing functioning modes. The programming system enables the signals from various electrodes or groups of electrodes to be recorded one after the other. The electrocardiogram recordings may be made on paper with the paper moving 10 cm for each stage of the recording programme. The recording device may use a microprocessor to handle the programming and control functions.</p> |
