The monofils of each warp insert consist of glass, carbon, or aramid, of x-section 0.0032" to 0.0095", and each insert x-section is 0.003" to 0.38" in thickness and 0.009" to 0.75" in width. The ratio of width to thickness is between 2 and 30, and the total width of inserts to fabric yd is between 55% and 98%. Pref. the monofils consist of E-glass and are without crimp or twist, and the fabric is embedded in cured thermosetting resin. Used in poles, fishing rods, pipes, marine structures, vehicle bodies, panels, I-beams.
