The grating comprises carrier beams (1) and cross-bars secured to the beams via coupling pieces which are pref. in resilient material, such as plastics, and have a projection which fits in a longitudinal groove provided in the beam. The projection fits in the groove such that the coupling piece is longitudinally slidable along the beam but is laterally located on it. On the opposite side to the projection, the coupling piece has a slot extending at right angles to the beam in which a cross-bar can be clamped. The groove and the projection may have corresponding T-sections.
