<p>In the mfr. of a non-woven fabric, for reinforcing tricots, when the synthetic fibres are opened they are treated with a self-crosslinking resin before mixing with natural fibres, in the form of an emulsion. These synthetic fibres are then immediately mixed with the natural fibres. After a dwell time of 45-75 minutes, pref. about 60 minutes, a cationic lubricant is applied together with a small amt. of an emulsified mineral oil or a non-ionic grease. Fibres are carded and/or formed into a felting, to be needle knitted for stability. Process improves the stages to give an integrated material using short natural fibres, and partic. leather fibres with synthetic fibres, to give a stable prod.</p> |
