<p>The strainer comprises a stationary part and a movable part. The movable part includes a body 5, an inlet sieve 4 and a bottom plate 6, e.g. of frusto conical form, which is situated at the lower end of the sieve. The stationary part includes a flange 1 attached to the pipe 2, and a stationary bottom plate 2 of corresponding shape to bottom plate 6 attached to the flange by guides 10. The movable part is displaceable relative to the stationary part by sliding along the guides between a non-working position where bottom plate 2 seals off flow through sieve 4 to pipe 2 and a working position where bottom plate 6 is lifted into contact with bottom plate 2 allowing flow through sieve 4 to pipe 2. Sealing means are provided between the flange and the stationary bottom plate 2 on the one part and associated portions of the movable part co-operating therewith, on the other part. A sieve cleaning element 3 may be mounted on bottom plate 2. <IMAGE></p> |
