PURPOSE:To improve working performance and reduce the dispersion in capacity by using a paste which is obtained by mixing organic solvent into active substance powder and kneading them and further kneading after adding water or aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol. CONSTITUTION:As the active substance powder for paste type cadmium negative plate, cadmium oxide powder is used mainly. To this cadmium oxide powder, organic solvent such as ethylene glycohol or propylene glycohol is added, and the both are mixed, and then further water or aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol is added and the product is kneaded, and then a paste having viscosity stable a can be obtained. The paste thus formed is coated onto the electrode substratum plate, for example porous perforated steel plate, and then the plate is dried and pressed, and thus a negative plate is formed. |
