PURPOSE:To make uniform lining of high packing density possible, by setting down a mounting stand for a operating frame by means of an elevator installed at the throat of a converter into the furnace, by making a necessary gap between the shell and the operating frame fixed at the mounting stand, and by filling a pouring material into the gap, then by removing the operating frame after the hardening of the pouring material. CONSTITUTION:Fixing ironware is welded to the inner surface of shell 23 at suitable intervals, and the converter is let to stand up-right, then operating frame 17 for the operation on the furnace bottom is carried to the bottom 8 of the furnace by means of a small crane. Then a base stand 3 is placed on the throat 2 and a mounting stand 16 for the operating frame accomodated in the base stand 3 is set down by operating a remote-controlled elevator 13. The operating frame 17 is bolted and a space 30 of a necessary shape is formed particularly between the steel plate 21 of the operating frame 17 for the furnace bottom and shell 23 at the furnace bottom 8. Pouring material 31 is poured through a conduit pipe 9 into the space 30. After hardening of the pouring material 31, the frame is removed. The operation is repeated in order to complete the lining. |
