PURPOSE:To effectively utilize the heat of a converter when drying and baking a repair material, by inverting the converter and filling the repair material in the part to be repaired at the steel outlet port of the converter in repairing the steel outlet part in a hot state. CONSTITUTION:A converter 3 is inverted when or just after a repair material is filled in the steel outlet port 2 of the converter by a repair material sprayer 7 to repair the outlet port. When the converter 3 is inverted, the pressure in the converter is slightly positive due to the hot gas in the converter and the gas flows out of the converter through the steel outlet port 2 as shown an arrow 9. For this reason, the drying and baking of the filled repair material between the working surface of the steel outlet port and sleeve bricks (steel pipe) not shown in Fig. are accelerated and the heat in the converter is utilized. Immediately or presently after that, the converter is swung so that the inside of the converter at the steel outlet port is repaired with a material and this material is dried and baked. |
