An adhesive applicator (24) applies adhesive to outer side of book block (2) while conveyor (14) moves book block upwardly. A docking unit (18) aligns book cover (20) horizontally above adhesive applying unit so that back portion (2a) of book block is set at center portion of book cover. A bonding unit (28) bonds half portions of book cover at two sides of book block while upward motion of book block is continued by conveyor. A removal unit removes book block having book cover. The adhesive applicator stops application of adhesive during downward movement of book block. |
