A warp-knitted fabric having tubular sections is formed on a Raschel machine with two needle beds and at least three guide bars, where a fabric is knitted on each needle bed. The two fabrics are connected to each other by binder yarns which are fed by a single guide bar between the two guide bars knitting the fabrics for the tubular assembly. The tubular fabric may exhibit loops or pile on one side, and is highly elastic. It may be used for bags, tights and tubular surgical dressings.
