<p>PURPOSE:To easily carry out the shape control throughout the axial direction of the work roll, by giving respectively different eccentricities against the rotation center of the arbor to each roller of the backup roll. CONSTITUTION:The rotation center of the roller 14a and 14e on the end is made identical with the rotation center 0 of the arbor; however, the rotation center B of the rollers 14b and 14d in the next stage is given the eccentricity e1 against the rotation center 0 of the arbor 12. Besides, the rotation center C of the middle roller 14c has the eccentricity e2 against the rotation center 0 of the arbor 12. The rotation center of the rollers 14a and 14e are not necessarily made identical with the rotation center 0 of the arbor 12. By 180 deg. turning the arbor 12 in the peripheral direction, the eccentricity pattern of the backup roll contacting with the intermediate roll, for example, is changed so as to make possible the small diameter work roll to be forcibly given desired longitudinal deflection.</p> |
