A urea derivative of the formula <IMAGE> in which R is hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl, cyanoalkyl or phenyl and R1 is <IMAGE> X, if several, being the same or different and X being hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxy, halogenoalkyl, alkylthio, alkylsulfinyl, alkylsulfonyl, halogeno or nitro, and n being an integer from 1 to 3. The compounds are useful as reactive agents in herbicidal composition. The invention also concerns a herbicidal composition in which a compound of the invention is the active agent or one of the active agents.
