<p>The non-round fitting incorporating a locking arrangement for a roll of carpet or similar in a storage rack assembly, and which slides axially to engage with the shaft of the roll, has at the end which enters the shaft, a non-round rod, whilst the end with which a crank handle mechanism engages has a non-round hole. The non-round fitting which in one position allows the roll of carpet to turn freely whilst in the other axial position the roll is locked, has at one end a non-round rod and at the other a non-round bush. Support rollers are provided for the end of the roll shaft, in the end of which a support detail with a non-round opening is fitted for working with the sliding fitting. A leaf spring is fitted to the support detail and it has a running surface against which the non-round fitting comes to rest in the first axial position, and with which it is in frictional contact in the second axial position. A gear box with a crank handle can be mounted on the assembly and has a short non-round stub which fits the non-round bush of the locking arrangement.</p> |
