1459367 Ethylene polymer-carbon black compositions HOECHST AG 30 Jan 1975 [30 Jan 1974] 4161/75 Heading C3P Compositions comprise (1) an ethylene polymer and(2) carbon black having a BET surface in the range 300 to 1500 m.2/g. and an oil absorption in the range 2À5 to 5À5 ml./g. and containing 0À1 to 6À0 weight per cent of volatile components and 0À5 to 10 weight per cent of ash. The polymer may be a homopolymer or copolymer with up to 10% by weight of propylene or butene-1. The carbon black may be a by-product formed during gasification processes for the preparation of mixtures of carbon-monoxide and hydrogen from hydrocarbons. The compositions may also contain stabilizers, e.g. N - phenyl - N1 - isopropyl- or N,N1 - dinaphthyl - p - phenylenediamine, and lubricants, e.g. calcium or zinc stearate, and may be formed into containers for combustible liquids, e.g. gasoline.
