The ski brake has two arms (2) which carry shoes (3) and are held on the surface of the ski (1) by the skier's boot. The arms have a curved intermediate part (4) joining two parts (5, 6) parallel to the longitudinal axis (x) of the ski. Springs are fitted on the arms (7) and tend to make them pivot towards the exterior around an axle (X2) parallel to the ski, when the boot leaves the ski. A second spring (8) is fitted on a rod (9) between the arms and tends to make them rotate perpendicularly to the axis of the ski into the braking position. |
