<p>In the method, the moulding material is compacted by means of an explosion. For this purpose, a pattern arrangement is used, onto which a moulding box is placed. This is filled with a metered quantity of moulding material. A container is connected to the moulding box to form an enclosed space. Fuel is mixed in the space with an oxidising agent and the mixture is moved in the space and ignited. The space is no larger than required to allow enough room, after the feeding in of the fuel, for the quantity of oxidising agent required for the complete combustion of the fuel. It is possible to produce sand moulds with largely uniform compaction on the pattern side.</p> |
