1500583 Data processing and display INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORP 11 April 1975 [4 June 1974] 14929/75 Addition to 1408770 Heading H4T The data processing system described in parent Specification is modified by provision of staggering between timing (STROBE) pulses 64 in alternate scans, the time-delay which provides the stagger being less than the interval between the pulses, whereby the beginning or end of sampled events (e.g. pulses 61) occurring between a given timing pulse 64 and the corresponding staggered timing pulse 64' is represented by the superposition of symbols 65, 62 respectively representing presence and absence of event. By this means, a more accurate representation of the beginning and end of the events is displayed. The system is further improved by including a time-correction circuit for compensation of the time delay in the synchronization loop which tests the slope of the STROBE trigger pulses (see Fig. 2 of Specification 1,408,770). The time between a positive detection and data display in the second column of the display matrix (the first is blank), is then equal to the time between data display in the second and third (and subsequent) columns. |
