In a double loom for the mfr. of woven pile fabrics, with a blade to sever the pile between woven layers, the drive mechanism has at least two wheels rotating in the same direction and at the same speed. One wheel carries a freely-rotating deflection roller for a drive cable with a further deflection roller between them as an extra section. The design gives a mechanism where the drive cable is given an increased life as the force of the moving masses is reduced.
