PURPOSE:To prevent adhesion or welding of the surface of a coil to each other during annealing, by, in annealing of rolled coil of low-carbon steel sheet etc., applying a fluid made by dispersing silicate or silica sol into a solvent such as methanol etc. on the surface of the steel sheet. CONSTITUTION:Low-carbon steel or nonferrous metal such as copper is rolled by a roll mill 2 and is wound by a reel 3 into a rolled coil 7. An adhesion-preventing fluid is applied on the surface of the rolled material 1 by a spray machine 4. The adhesion-preventing fluid is made by dispersing silicate such as sodium silicate, lithium silicate, or their aq. silica sol into a soln. such as methanol, isopropyl alcohol. To the fluid are added boric acid, or benzotriazol etc. as an oxidizing agent, and oxyethylene, a nonionic surface active agent, as a spreader or wetting agent. Because dense coating of silica particles or silicate is formed on the surface of the coil while being annealed, the surface of the coil hardly adhere to each other. |
