<p>A contact lens inner radius measurement device has a lens mounting tube, inner concentrically moving probe, a sensor detecting probe contact with the lens, and a probe position measurement and adjustment feed device. It ensures accurate reproducible measurements independent of operator efficiency. The feed has a non-rotating jacket with internal thread into which the probe external thread screws. A disc fixed to the probe indicates the angular position from which it is rotated until it touches the lens. Contact is detected by an insulated probe in a circuit closed when it touches the moisture on the lens or by a piezoelectric pressure-sensing probe support. The disc position may be sensed optically using peripheral holes to generate light detector pulses. The probe may be rotated via a belt driven by a motor.</p> |
