Yarn knotter - has clamping tongue on push rod in knotter tube

The construction of a yarn knotter for use on a mobile trolley which is moved from station to station, has a clamping tongue bonded to the push rod. This is located centrally in the knotter tube by a rotary axis. There is a coil spring supported by an adjustable limit stop in the closing direction of the clamping tongue. The design requires few and relatively simple moving parts, giving low wear and little noise in operation. There is also a wide opening capability so that the unit can work with yarns of a wide variety of thicknesses.
