<p>PURPOSE:To prepare the title compound suitable for the molding of a thin-walled article with high dimensional accuracy, by adding polyethylene wax or polypropylene wax to the reaction system before the completion of the polymerization of polybutylene terephthalate. CONSTITUTION:A polybutylene terephthalate molding compound having a relative viscosity of 1.3-1.75, is prepared by adding a polyethylene wax and/or a polypropylene wax having a molecular weight of 500-12,000 to the polymerization reaction mixture of polybutylene terephthalate at an arbitrary stage before the completion of the polymerization. The amount of the wax is 0.01-2.0wt% based on the prepared polybutylene terephthalate.</p> |
