A bar coding identification strip is used to allow peel off adhesive labels to be continuously identified. The transparent adhesive labels (22) are located on a backing strip (20) and a thin continuous strip (24) is connected by a bridging section (26). The thin strip carries the identifying bar coding (28). As the labels are separated from the backing by a roller cutter wheel (34) and associated roller (24) collects the coiling strip.
