1292784 Detergent compositions PROCTER & GAMBLE CO 19 April 1971 [26 Feb 1970] 22696/71 Heading C5D A granular composition comprises (a) a detergent, (b) an organic sequestering agent or an inorganic alkaline builder in a quantity equal to 0À1 to 30 times that of the detergent, (c) a glucose polymer containing alpha-1,4-links, (d) a compound of formula R 1 (CHOH) n Y where R 1 is CHO or CH 2 OH, n is 3 or 4 and Y is a carboxylic salt or ester group in a weight equal to 0À01-2 times that of the glucose polymer and (e) an alpha-amylase in a weight equal to 0À0005-3% of the total composition and 0À02- 100% of the weight of glucose polymer. The detergent may be sodium n-dodecylbenzenesulphonate, a sodium C 10-18 alkyl sulphate or an adduct of tallow fatty alcohol and ethylene oxide. The sequestering agent may be an alkali metal, ammonium or substituted ammonium polycarboxylate or polyphosphate, e.g. trisodium salt of nitrilotriacetic acid, the sodium salt of polyitaconic acid or polymaleic acid or the sodium or potassium salts of ethane-1,2- diphosphonic acid, 1-hydroxyethane-1,1-diphosphonic acid or ethane-1,1,2-triphosphonic acid. The builder may be sodium or potassium carbonate, phosphate, tripolyphosphate or hexametaphosphate or sodium silicate or sulphate. The glucose polymer may be dextrin or amylopectin. The compound of formula R 1 (CHOH) n Y may be calcium gluconate. The composition may also include partly hydrolysed collagen, sodium perborate as a bleaching agent, a proteolytic enzyme, hydrogenated fish oil C 14-26 fatty acid, sodium thiosulphate and water. |
