A cylinder core 2, intended for, for example, paper or textile fibre drying rolls, is provided with a spirally running rupture line 3. The cylinder core functions in known fashion, since the roll is consumed from the outside in. In the reverse consumption direction, the cylinder core 2 is removed by pulling in the axial direction, whereupon it breaks along the rupture lines 3 and is able to be removed as a spiral strip 4 of lesser diameter than the centre hole of the roll. Since the, for example, paper layers making up the cylinder core are wound on a spindle, the manufacturing method for the cylinder core involves the realization of a spiral weakening of the cylinder core in the form of a material layer of weak tearing strength, which layer is made to cover the spiral groove formed by the core- forming paper layers. <IMAGE> |
