<p>In parent patent an attachment to a carding engine receives and brings together the fleece delivered from a guiding mechanism, into a band of fibres. The guiding mechanism consists of two rollers and behind it there is a guiding element with one guiding surface which crosses the plane of the web of fibres. The guide also has a stationary guiding surface which is hollow where it faces the rollers and receives the fleece. In this addn. the guiding surface has openings and these are pref. small and/or narrow. They may be formed by drillings, or they may be horizontal or vertical, narrow slots. The openings may be confined to the lower zone of the guiding surface. A suction device is fitted against the surface of the guide turned away from the rollers delivering the fleece. The complete elimination from the band of fibre of all impurities such as waste, dust, etc. which are carried over when the raw cotton is very dirty is obtd.</p> |
