In a process for connecting wires or strands of adjacent sections of a traction cable in a concrete structure the wires or strands of a first section of the cable are held anchored. The end of the wires of the first section are located inside a metal sleeve and near the end of wires of a second section of the cable in the sleeve. The sleeve is then compressed to lock the two wires together. The sleeve may be in hardened metal and may have teeth or screw threads on its inner and outer surfaces.
