摘要 PURPOSE:To perform correctly the profile control of a torch by detecting the position of a ridge line prior to the welding of one layer and by controlling by a CPU the profile control of a torch based on the position relation among the position thereof, the groove prior to the welding of the first layer and the ridge line. CONSTITUTION:The position 11a of the groove 11 of a groove work 10, at least one position of the two ridge lines 10b of a base plate 10a and the sectional area of the groove 10 are detected prior to the weld of the first layer by non-contact type sensor 2. The welding of the first layer is performed by storing the sensing data in the RAM of a control device 1 by moving a truck 4 on a rail 9, by taking out the groove position and sectional area from the RAM and by performing the profile control of a welding torch 3 and the control of the welding conditions. The grooves position 11a is obtainable by detecting the position of the ridge line 10b on the second layer due to the groove position 11a and the position of the ridge line 10b being obtd. in the first layer.
