The apparatus comprises a conical body (7) whose angle of opening corresponds to that of the spindle taper hole and which possesses slots which each run along one of its generatrices, one lip of which is provided with a scraper blade (11). The body (7) carries cylindrical brushes (12) mounted rotatably upon it and each partly engaged in a longitudinal slot. Each spindle is integral in rotation with a pinion (15a) meshing with an internally toothed ring gear (16) driven by a piece (19) comprising notches (21) in which the drive pins of the spindle nose engage. The body (7) is secured to a frame (1) which is acted upon to prevent it from turning with the spindle. <IMAGE>
