STEP DIMMING SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To eliminate influence on transmission by the switching noise which is produced at the start of power supply to the lighting load by the step dimmer controllor by reducing the number of phase control timings which are preliminarily set every half cycle of the commercial power source for the purposes of performing step dimming. CONSTITUTION:One or more pairs of emitter 2 and receiver for dimming control are provided in the indoor electric wire 1 for step dimming control of a lighting load 5 with remote control. A number of additional emitters 2 and receivers 3 are further connected to the indoor electric wire 1 for controlling the load 5. According to this system if the phase control timings of the former and latter periods of each cycle of the commercial power source are made to be a plurality of independent ones and if the selection of the phase control timings of the former periods is combined with that of the phase control timings of the latter periods, many steps of dimmer controls can be achived.
