PURPOSE:To control a great capacity of reactive power by a small capacity of reactor by altering the amplitude of variable AC voltage by connecting in series the reactor with the variable AC voltage coinciding with system voltage with respect to phase. CONSTITUTION:The thyristors 13 and 14 and the diodes 15 and 16, connected with the variable DC power sources 11 and 12 through antiparallel circuit for example, are connected to the AC power source 1 through the reactor 6. At the voltage zero point of the AC power source 1, ingition pulse is supplied to the thyristors 13 and 14 to make the phase of voltage flowing from the variable DC power sources 11 and 12 into the AC power source 1 coincide with the phase of the AC power source 1 and at the same time to alter the amplitude of the variable power sources 11 and 12, whereby regulating a great capacity of reactive power by a small capacity of the reactor 6. |
