The equipment which reduce body weight and assuages the pangs of hunger, comprises a balloon (1) with hose (6) and gastroscope (9) or stomach tube, inserted in the stomach via the alimentary canal. A gaseous and/or liquid medium is delivered to the balloon after insertion. The balloon or hose can have a one-way valve, allowing delivery only of the medium, but not its automatic discharge. The connection between hose and balloon can be detachable after inflation of the balloon.
