Laminated iron core prodn. for transformers - uses stop plates forming device for stacking sheet metal laminations

The multiple shank iron cores for transformers choke coils and similar inductors are produced from laminations butted against each other. During stacking of the metal sheets for the individual core parts the laminations are placed alternately against respective stop plate in a device, consisting of two parallel stop plates. The distance between the stop plates is adjustable according to the tolerances of the laminations lengths. During stacking each second lamination is preferably inserted with a 180 deg. offset about the longitudinal axis. The grooves in the butting surfaces of the individual core parts are filled with resin or similar hardenable insulating material in liquid state in order to form flat surfaces.
