PURPOSE:To supply a low-cost and simple random number generator by calculating previously sectional linear resemblance functions of probability distribution functions and expressing them in a table form and using this table to generate random numbers according to a specific probability distribution. CONSTITUTION:For vlaue q of one random number generated by a uniform random number generator, the linear section including value q is searched in a table by a table function calculating unit to obtain value f(xi) at the start point of corresponding linear section 1, corresponding variable value xi and reverse variable Hi of the inclination of the corresponding linear section, and xi+Hi(q-f(xi) is calculated to obtain value X. Next, in case that probability distribution is given in form f(ki(X-k2)), x/k1+k2 is calculated in a variable converter. By repeating the operation above, random numbers according to specific probability distribution f(ki(x-k2)) are obtained successively. |
