Composite metal section strip with a longitudinal plastic strip is produced by applying in a first station an adhesive film to the strip surface concerned. The solvent is volatilised in the next station and a plastic bead is extruded to the face. Heating to polymerisation temp. of the adhesive achieves a firm bond. The result is an extremely reliable joint between metal and plastic in a high-speed continuous process. Used as decorative trim, corner and impact protection strip in the electrical and automobile industry and for the mfr. of furniture.
