PURPOSE:To produce a magnetic head having excellent characteristics, while rationalizing the production steps, with the use of an amorphous ferromagnetic metal band by making the side, which is parallel with the longitudinal and thickthwise directions, into a magnetic gap surface. CONSTITUTION:A molten substance containing ferromagnetic metal such as Fe, Ni or Co and a vitrification element such as P, C, Si or B is cooled at a high rate to produce an amorphoue ferromagnetic metal chip 1 having reduced thickness and high hardness. The metal chip 1 has it winding aperture portion 3 and a separation portion 4 locally heated to facilitate the separation. After that, a necessary number of the chips are laminated one on another in the thickthwise direction by means of an adhesive 5. After the side 6 facing the magnetic gap of the laminated core is polished, the portions shown in broken lines 3 and 4 are separated by the application of a force. Then, two of the laminated cores thus prepared are adhered at the side 6 through a gap regulating member 7 of the magnetic gap thereby to produce the laminated core of the magnetic head. |
