An adjustable seat for an automobile comprises a tubular skeleton 1 fixed to a sliding frame made up of girders 2a, 2b interconnected by tie members 3a, 3b, 3c. Member 3c slides in a grinding member 6-4c fixed to the vehicle floor. One edge of member 3c is provided with a member 3<SP>1</SP>c bent down over member 4c, Fig. 3 (not shown). A trough 6 fixed to member 4c receives a trough shaped part of sliding member 3c. Members 3a, 3b slide, with lateral play, on supporting members 4a, 4b. The frame may be fixed in relation to the vehicle floor by means of a latch 10 which engages a slot 7 in member 3c and selected slots 8, 9 in trough 6 and member 4c respectively. Latch 10 is controlled by a knob 13 on a rod 11. Skeleton 1 may be releasably secured to the frame by lugs 16 engaging in holes 17 in tie members 3a, 3b and hooks 18 engaging in holes 19 in member 3c. |
