The front and rear sections of the surfboard (2) are pivoted about transverse horizontal axes to alter the profile of the board to suit the different water conditions. Each section locates on the main body of the board with interlocking ratchets, held together by springs. The end sections can be removed so that the board can be carried in a confined space.
