The composite prefabricated wall panel is for utilisation in building construction and comprises two leaves of concrete sandwiching an insulating layer (1a). The panel includes first fixings i.e. water pipes (11), gas pipes (9), cable ducts (10), switches and meter housings (16) and similar. The fittings are installed under factory conditions and are built onto the insulating core (1a) in prepn. for the precasting operation. The fabrication of the panel entails placing the core slab (1a) between two vertical shutters (5, 6), maintaining the horizontal relationship between the core slab and the shutters, and filling the two gaps with concrete. The core slab may be transported to site, completed with the service fittings, and the panel may then be cast insitu. The shutters (5, 6) may be spaced by studs (15) or formers for boxings out (16) or similar.
